FOOD RULES - RULE #14

from "Food Rules: An Eater's Manual," by Michael Pollan

*****

PART I: What Should I Eat?
(Eat food.)

RULE #14 - Eat foods made from ingredients that you can picture in their raw state or growing in nature.

Read the ingredients on a package of Twinkies or Pringles and imagine what those ingredients actually look like raw or in the places where they grow: You can't do it. This rule will keep all sorts of chemicals and foodlike substances out of your diet.

"Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."

  1. I like to picture Oreos growing on trees. It makes me feel better.

  3. LOL !! Maybe picturing your home-baked cookies can make you feel better ... flour, sugar, salt, butter, chocolate .... mmmmmmm. Ben and I are home-baked oatmeal chocolate chip cookies fanatics. Can't bake them too often to prevent a batch from becoming dinner. Sound familiar? :) :)
